June 24th. James Anderson, now David Snowden, from W.W. White's, firm of White + Co. Dry Goods, Washington D.C. His master bought a farm + wished James to go to work on it. Did not like to -- his master moreover would not let him go to see his wife whom he has not seen since Xmas, nor his children for nearly two years, so he ran away. Some white friends in Washington gave him money to hire (Becket) to take him to Gettysburgh.

July 7th. Isaac Forman from Geo. Brown's of Norfolk. One John Gibbs engaged y Capt. of a schr. to take off a party of 13. Each paid all y money they had.  Isaac left a wife + two children, but was badly treated, + expected to be sold.

Wm. Seymour from Wm. Taylor's Norfolk, left a wife.  Anderson Williams from heirs of Archer Briggs, Norfolk. Hard treatment + expected  to be sold.
