According to kabbalistic literature, certain times of the year have particular significance. The period entitled "ShoVeVIM," (an acronym for the names of the Torah portions read during these weeks) was considered particularly auspicious for repentance of sexual transgressions. This manuscript is a collection of prayers and penitence for this time. It was owned by "ha-bahur," (an unmarried or young man) Jacob Hayyim, the son of Isaac, Kiridi.
Purchased for Columbia by Salo Baron from David Fraenkel, 1933.
