There are times when a person is so overcome with joy about a particular event that it permeates into everything they do. On the same day that the scribe Yitsḥak ben ʻAvdaʾel, completed this manuscript, his wife gave birth to a baby. Notwithstanding the fact that he was writing this book for another person’s (Mosheh ben Yitsḥak’s) use, Yitsḥak ben ʻAvdaʾel’s excitement was such that he could not refrain from including the very personal news of his son’s birth at the end of the manuscript.
