 Dec 29th 1856 

One man:

     Andrew Jackson, alias Henry Johnson, the ‘property’ of Thomas Palmer of Cecil Co. Md., farmer.  One of three boys and four men ‘owned’ by him.  Started three weeks today, has worked for several persons on the road.  He was assisted by a white man of the name of James Thompson who piloted him some 4 or 5 miles on the road, only charging him 25 c. for his trouble.  Leaves no family nor relatives bit a cousin.  Age about 23 or 5.  To Canada via Albany.
