MS General 225

General Manuscript Collection

Avraham Goldfadn was known as the “Father of Yiddish Theatre,” and created the first formal Yiddish Theatre Troupe in 1877, which toured various cities in Eastern Europe.  This collection of plays (with the Russian censor’s mark of approval) is only a small sample of the enormous corpus that he created and produced. This manuscript has been digitized in its entirety, and is available via the Internet Archive.
