Plimpton Papers

In this letter, President Butler wrote to George Plimpton with news of the building of what would eventually be named Butler Library. Suggesting that Plimpton’s collection be given appropriate housing in the new building, Butler wrote: “We could arrange for the Plimpton Collection, the Plimpton Hall, or the Plimpton Alcove, or the Plimpton anything else which might seem both suitable and satisfactory.”
