Case 1: Background: Life in Motherland > Soiuz Russkago Naroda (The Union of the Russian People)

Soiuz Russkago Naroda (The Union of the Russian People) was a Black-Hundredist counter-revolutionary organization in Russia, formed in 1905 in St. Petersburg.  It appealed to reactionary elements of the urban petty bourgeoisie, landowners, clergy, and urban déclassés. They stood for the unity and indivisibility of Russia and the preservation of autocracy. Their motto was “Russia is for the Russian People.”
