Operas > The Juggler - Program
"The Juggler of Our Lady" received its premier on February 23, 1962, by Xavier University Opera Workshop in New Orleans, under the sponsorship of Sister M. Elise. The production shown here given by Opera/South in November, 1972, was conducted by Margaret Harris and starred Marvin Wallace as the Juggler.
The Opera/South production was designed and directed by Donald Dorr, who would be Ulysses Kay's librettist for his later operas "Jubilee," and "Frederick Douglass," as well as ""The Western Paradise" (1977) for narrator and orchestra, and the chamber work "Jersey Hours" (1978)
