Handwritten and Wordless Books > Lunaria
Lunaria, by the “Godfather of Canadian Poetry,” bill bissett, is a long poem overlaid by hand-painted watercolors, also done by bissett. The text is handwritten and printed letterpress, and features bissett’s well-known idiosyncratic spellings about which he has insisted: “thru th spelling behaving mor n mor phoentikallee we can see demonstraysyuns uv how peopul oftn dont relee meen what they ar saing n sew on inklude othr radikalee diffrent opsums sum evn kontra dicktoree 2 or with the surface meenings sew that th voisings radiate n within spredin in2 a largr hemispheer.” Printed letterpress by Inge Bruggemann; bound by Judith Ivry in an edition of 42.
