Dovid (David) Pinski is renowned for his Yiddish plays, but an article by Sonia Gollance discusses his time as a graduate student in the Germanic Languages Department at Columbia. Pinski ultimately did not complete his degree, but went on to fame for his literary output and theatrical works.
