Butler PN6728.E98 V38 2005 v. 1

A civil engineer falls into the East River during an explosion, emerging with the ability to control machines with his mind; he then transforms himself into a vigilante superhero called the Great Machine (after a quotation from Thomas Jefferson about society). Unhappy with his success as a masked avenger, he retires to pursue a political career, eventually becoming mayor of New York City, while attempting to balance corruption, power, idealism….and superpowers.
