This account of an early Western encounter with the Islamic East was written by the son of a coffee merchant, and was originally published in Amsterdam and in Paris in 1716 as Voyage de l'Arabie heureuse. It contains a description of the Arabian Peninsula, the Red Sea and Yemen.
