The stained glass window was commissioned by Joseph Pulitzer and installed in the World Building lobby in 1908. When the building was scheduled for demolition, Dean Carl W. Ackerman and Prof. John Hohenberg worked with the City of New York to have the window transferred to School of Journalism building at Columbia.
The window is now housed in the World Room of Columbia University's Journalism School
